Together with Luka Grabocka and representatives from the organization Korça Apline, who have joined the initiative ” Power Outages Crisis in Vithkuq,” representatives of the #skëndija program met with the Prefect of the Korçë District, Mr. Nertil Jole. During this meeting, Luka presented his initiative to address the power outages affecting the Vithkuq Administrative Unit.
The discussion highlighted the longstanding challenges faced by the Vithkuqi community, and several potential solutions were proposed based on input from local residents and the area’s electrician. Mr. Jole expressed his full support for the initiative and committed to communicating with relevant institutions, including OSHEE and OST for the Korça region, to explore solutions to this pressing issue as soon as possible.
One key outcome of the meeting was the decision to prepare a memorandum to share with various local and national stakeholders. A follow-up meeting with the Mayor of Korçë, Mr. Sotiraq Fino, echoed the same concerns.
This initiative represents a significant step toward resolving the power outages and improving the lives of Vithkuqi residents.
